Fred Howard BSc(Hons) MCOptom

Fred has lived in Wirral all his life and graduated as a mature student, from UMIST in 1997 completing his Professional Qualifications in 1998. Fred recently finished runner up in the National AOP Award for Optometrist of the Year – and in his role as Chair collected the Award for Local Optical Committee (LOC) of the Year for Wirral.

Following his graduation, Fred’s focus was to become a Community Optometrist using the full range of skills he qualified with.

He began a Domiciliary business in 1999 and opened his first practice, in Bebington in 2000. Opening a second in Wallasey during 2003 and finally establishing the third, Pensby practice during 2004.

Alongside his duties as Wirral LOC Chair,  Fred was also appointed by the PCT as Lead Optometrist for DRSS.

Alison Melling BSc (Hons) MCOptom

Alison is our other fully qualified, full-time Optometrist.

Alison has a passion for eyecare and combines her clinical excellence with her ability to make patients feel comfortable. Achieving her professional qualifications in 2006, Ali’s dedication to the optical profession is reflected in her experience in both management and clinical disciplines.
